Risi of baby having a disability?

Anyone know much about risk of baby having a disability due to parents being 38? My partner already has an autistic child from past relationship (but also has a child with no disabilities)

I am almost 40 and my baby is normal. Just pray and leave everything to God.

Autisim cant be detected until 1-5yrs old so im keeping everything crossed. Genetic counselor said 3-7% increased risk so i just hope they are right. Thanks all :-)

Well said! I'm 38 and 27 weeks pregnant. Declined all tests and instead, prayed and left it to God. Level 2 ultrasound reported all normal. God is mighty.

Doctor's say that as you get older, the risks get higher. Your chances of having a baby with Down's (for example) at 38 are higher than that of someone who is 24 or somewhere in there, but don't let that stop you. There is testing out there now that can pick up chromosome abnormalities at a very early stage.

I had my 1st at 35 with no issues. M6 sis in law had hers at 26. Her child is autistic and mine isnt. I don't think age is a major factor for it.
