Risks

I took a home pregnacy test the week of the 7th of Feb. The test was positive. Spoke to my doctor and went the following for a blood preg test and it to was positive. I was having dull pains in my side and back and phoned the doctor and she did another test the following week. The levels were not increasing and she informed me I may be miscarrying. Well sure enough this past Feb 24th I began to miscarry. I bleed from Thur til Sun and then I was done. Not much pain other than Thur. My physician had previously prescribed me some Clomid and I didn't take it cause I had a positive test. Well although miscarrying I started my clomid cycle day 6 and been taking it since. I do feel some I think ovulation pain. Last dose is tomorrow. What is the risks of having another miscarriage if I get pregnant NOW during my ovulation since I just recently had one. I probably should have waited til next cycle but I am just anxious...not getting any younger and I am a high risk. My youngest daughter was premature and born 2 months early...She's fine of course. However I delivered a son on 06/22/09 and he was too early and didn't survive. I had a miscarriage October of 2010. I was about 3 months. I am worried cuz I know my body needs a REST!!! Advise....

Thanks for your post...I kinda felt a relief that someone else has experienced some of the same things. I am really anxious and ready. The delivery I had 062209 which was unsuccessful really took a toll on me emotionally. I am really scared and my husband is worried...can't go through that again, well at least don't want to. I am gonna continue to pray and everything will happen just as it should in due time! Take care.

The best way I can think of to answer this question is that your risk is no higher then it was the first time.  It is not until we have 3 consecutive losses that they consider us higher risk.  So, whatever your risk factor was the first time (based on age, enviromental issues, etc.), your risk is exactly the same.  I can tell you that I conceived immediately following a very early m/c.  No period in between or anything.  He is now 13 months old, was born just a week before my 41st birthday and is the center of my world.  Not an uncommon story.  Try to take it day by day...it's hard not to worry, but it is as likely it will go well as it is that it won't.  All the best!!

So sorry to hear your news, unfortunetly as we get older m/c's are more common. how old are you? I have read so many stories of ladies that have a miscarriage then go on to have perfect pregnancy, speak with professional on this as there may be an underlining problem why your babies that do survive pregnancy come prematurely. I too am trying to conceive, I am 41 and not having much luck. 3 unsucessful ivf's, clomid just gave me cysts, so now we are just back to the completely natural way.I am of low body weight so this doesnt help. my best wishes to you and although I cant answer your questions wish you so much support and love in your quest, melissax
