Scared out of my mind

1st Pregnancy and scared out of my mind. I wanted this so bad did IVF TWICE. Now  its a reality,(9 weeks). And i am freaking out having crazy dreams about pitbulls.... lol... My doctor says i will have to have a C-section, which i already knew but the other day in the doctors office I started crying. I felt foolish. I am scared I wont do a good job at being a mom. My husband says its just hormones.

Anyone have similar emotions with their 1st pregnancy

If you don't mind my asking, did you conceive naturally at 40/41, or did you use other methods (e.g., IUI, IVF, etc.)? I ask because I am 39, and have been TTC my first since I was 37. I've had 3 m/cs, with the last m/c having been nearly a year ago. I haven't been pregnant since and I'm starting to get even more panicky as I approach 40. I've had all the testing done (all clear, no issues), have been seeing an RE since October 2010, and have been diagnosed with "unexplained fertility". I've tried fertility drugs (clomid, femara) and IUI - all failed. Have since been TTC naturally with acupuncture since March 2011, but no pregnancy so far.

I appreciate any advice/guidance you would like to share. Thanks so much.

I had my first child at almost 41 after trying for a very long time as well.  We also had a lot of disappointment and heartache in there.  I think what you are experiencing is pretty normal.  I was anxious throughout my entire pregnancy, and it got even worse after he was born.  I was convinced he was going to stop breathing, that something would happen to take him away from me, etc.  It was a tough time and I did wind up needing professional help.  Happy to say that today he is a happy healthy almost 18 month old who is the center of my world!  Motherhood is fantastic and you will be great!  I do think though that for those of us who have been through so much, the anxiety, worry and crazy dreams/fear are pretty normal.  If it becomes worse, please talk to your Dr.

Congrats to you and all the best!

You must be having a girl. I'm having a boy and have had no problems with the hormones. Good luck. You'll be a great mom.

It's the hormones!!! For me the first trimestre ana the last one were more active, hormone wise!! I cried for changes at work and also a couple of times could not stop laughing..almost histerical...now my baby girl is 7 weeks and I also cried some the first two weeks....hormones again!! I am ok now, so that's good news!
Botton line hang in there, the funny side is that within minutes you realized that all is because of the hormones.
Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!
