Second time around-again

Are there any moms who are parents of teens & expecting again?  My husband & I have an 18 yr old, a 16 yr old & an almost 3 yr old. I'm just curious how other moms may be handling issues that arise with their teens feelings of possibly being left out of things when the new family member arrives. Is this an issue for anyone else?

Oh hun, that has got to be a crappy feeling. I hope that when reality sinks in, your kids' feelings will change.
Our situation is different because my ex is completely out of our lives (hasn't seen the boys since 2002, & his rights were terminated so my hubs could adopt them) but my 16 yr old still is unsure of how things will be once baby comes. I think anytime there is a huge change, kids go through uncertainty but our job is to reassure them we love them no matter what.
Good luck with your situation & hopefully they'll see baby as a blessing & not an intruder in the family.

I have 16yr & 14yr old boys from a previous relationship and my partner has 11yr old girl. I'm only 6+7 so we havnt told them yet but this morning while joking with my cousin I said il definitely be having more children, just to gauge reactions! But my 14yr old said "if you do I'm moving to dads!" I was shocked as I assumed he would be the excited one as he's great with my niece. Now I'm terrified to tell them as my 16yr old already stays most of his time  at his dads which I find hard, I couldn't cope with both of them doing it.

It's assuring to know we're not alone! Our 16 yr old is kind of nervous about how things will change between him & my hubs because we are expecting a boy. My husband is making an effort before baby comes to bond even more with him so that once baby's here, it'll assure him he's not being replaced.

I have children 19 & 13. I was scared to tell my youngest, but she was actually overjoyed. She tells me daily she can't wait to be a big sister! We shall see if she has the same attitude once cbc the baby arrives.

I have a 20 yo 18 yo 16 yo and a 4 yo and expecting again. The 4 yo is kinda of excited she keeps saying baby brother in my tummy. The 16 yo is excited because he will no longer be the only boy. My 18 yo has always been my helper and is kinda of excited too. The 20 yo is actually getting ready to move out so it probably wont effect her that much. I try to keep all of my kids involved in some way...

Yes, I have 2 step sons that are 21 and 19 and my daughter is 15. We will be having another girl in July. Everyone is way excited for the little one but it is kinda scary for my husband and I cause we are pretty much starting over. Im hoping it keeps me young for a while longer and doesnt make me age to quickly.
