Short term disability?

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and work at a daycare with some pretty violent children.. I've been hot and kicked in the stomach multiple times and had to leave... Not only is it dangerous but my back is killing me all day and it's just getting to be way too much for me, the stress is bringing me anxiety and panic attacks... I see my doctor tomorrow so I'm hoping he will pull me from work, but to get paid I need to be on short term disability.. Does anyone know anything about this?

Nope no other position is available. I work with the 4 year olds and some of them are just so nasty. The staff is also no help, the director didn't even talk to the child's parents about kicking me so hard one day I had to leave. and they also have me working 11 hour days. It's just way toooo much for me! If I can't get disability I'm going to just quit because it's honestly not worth it, though some sort of income would be a huge help. I just plan on explaining it all to my OB tomorrow and hope I won't have to go back!!

In California you can get either unemployment or disability. I had been laid off a month before I got pregnant and unfortunately or fortunately I hadn't found a job before it ran out. I then found out that if your pregnant you can get disability, as long as your looking for work.  Its 4 weeks before due date and 6 weeks after. Your dr has to approve it

Is there another position you can do? I'm surprised they are allowing you to continue.  Think of you and your baby. No one is more important than your baby and their health and you! Good luck

Talk to your Dr explain your working conditions and
how you feel. State disability pays 60% of your gross pay, only your Dr can take you off work.

I considered disability till I found out the Max amount is $170 a week. I've decided to stick it out I'm now 34 weeks and each day is a challenge.
