Congratulations!
Please let me know how the ultrasound goes on Thursday. It is reassuring to hear about your situation. It doesn't seem fair that "normal" changes so much. For my next ultrasound I will be sure to ask what their "normal" is based on!
Good luck Kricket.
You know Kricket, you bring up a very interesting point. Normal range seems to depend on your Dr. This question comes up a lot and everyone seems to have been given a slightly different answer. I think we just need to remember that the word "normal" doesn't seem to apply in pregnancy. It's different for all of us and once a heartbeat is detected, the majority of the time things are just fine.
I am also at 6 weeks with twins.
My Twins heartbeats were at 95.7 & 98. The RE didnt mention to be slow at all. I go back again on thursday. I wonder what mine will be this week. I will be 7 weeks on thursday.
from american pregnancy association-- A normal heartbeat at 6-7 weeks would be 90-110 beats per minute. The presence of an embryonic heartbeat is an assuring sign of the health of the pregnancy. Once a heartbeat is detected, the chance of the pregnancy continuing ranges from 70-90% dependent on what type of ultrasound is used.
It may give you something to hold on to until next visit!
Thank you very much. I am not sure about the size...that is information they never gave me! I think I will have to find out.
Thanks!
Thank you for the information. Yes, time will tell, the waiting is terrible. I go back in a few weeks for another ultrasound. Wow..that internal ultrasound made me cramp and bleed a bit. (brown blood) - not looking forward to another one.
Thanks again.
Okay, At 6w 1d my baby had a hb of 89. One week later I think it was 120. A key factor for my Dr. was, was the sac & fetal pole measuring on time? At first he gave me a 50/50 with the 89 hb but said, a plus was that the measurements were good. Then, after (I think it was 120), um he is now almost 3!! I think in my opinion things are going to be just fine :)
A normal heartbeat is considered to be from 120 to 160 beats per minute. So while it is true that you are a bit on the slow side, not by much. Unfortunately only time will tell if all is well with the baby. I am so sorry you are going through this, I know the wait and see is so stressful. You are awfully close to normal though, and there is every reason to believe all will be well. Please take care and I wish you all the best.
