My progesterone was borderline but dropping quickly. It went from 20 to 16 to 11. They put me on the suppository progesterone and it went straight up to 39. After that they never tested it again but everything has gone great. I have read there are three ways of taking progesterone; injection, oral and suppositories. What I read said suppositories are the most effective and oral is the least effective. My suggestion is to ask your dr for the suppositories type.
If it is a problem with the chromosomes, the a m/c was the best thing and couldn't/shouldn't be prevented from taking its natural course.
Best of luck to you.. I hope it works out better next time.
First I want to say I am sorry for your loss...
I began taking 200 mg right after ovulation and when i got a positive beta a week later my progesterone was only 5..it was increased to 1000mg that evening and went to 9,13 and finally 23. I am 8 weeks today and have heard the heartbeat twice and measured perfectly the past 3 weeks. I will stay on prometrium until 12 weeks...yes, you can get pregnant with low progesterone and i was released from my RE tuesday because we are at no more risk then anyone else! ...so good luck and I will look for your updates...hope this information helped!

Taking the progesterone after ovulation can only help things. This does not affect the baby, only the uterine lining making it more suitable for implantation. Since your baby was fine at 6 weeks, the loss was probably due to chromosomes and not the lining. If it hadn't implanted properly, I am guessing the 6 week ultrasound would not be totally normal. Yes, it is fine to do yard work and whatever else after a D&C. I don't think you can cause any damage by doing too much. I was up and working the very next day. If you have continued bleeding though call your OB. They can check the lining with ultrasound to make sure everything was removed. You can try again as soon as you get your period again but my RE suggested waiting two cycles to make sure the lining is good. It can take awhile to get your period though - I think it took me like 7-8 weeks. Good luck.
