TTC while BF

I'm just wondering if any of you have any ideas on the likelyhood of ovulation while breastfeeding.  I've had my period back since our baby was 4 months old although it was a little irregular (45 days apart) but now I'm more regular at 29 days apart.  The baby is eating solids 2 x's a day and I'm also working part time so, I'm not nursing her all of the time.  I've been back to work since she was 8 weeks and she is now 7 1/2 months old.  We are hoping to concieve another child soon and so I just wondered if any of you had any luck at  7 or 8 months pp and had your periods back.  I've bought an ov test but just wanted to see if you had some encouraging words about it.

Since your periods have returned, you are ovulating for sure.  But not all women can become pregnant while breastfeeding.  Some can with no problem, but not all.  I did extensive research on this a while back because I wanted to get pregnant again.  Anyway, for some women it is easy to do without any problems.  Some women have too low hormone levels to sustain a pregnancy.  I know that is the case for me.  I have timed things right for the past 3 months and not gotten pregnant.  I know my body very well, as I have tempt my BBT.  I have 6 children and get pregnant very easily normally but since I am still breastfeeding, I just can't get pregnant right now.  Since you are breastfeeding less and less and your cycles are getting shorter, your fertility may be returning slowly.  Sounds like you are moving in the right direction.  That may be all it takes for you.  But you may have to not be nursing at all to get pregnant.  As I said, it is different for all women.  But you are def ovulating again.

I agree with happynifer.  My little guy is 9 months now and I just found out I am pregnant again.  So it can happen fairly quickly.

if you are cycling, then you should be ovulating so you should be able to conceive.
we are planning on trying as soon as i feel up to it after this baby is born since we aren't getting any younger and we needed IVF to conceive this one.
given the number of families i know with 2 under 2 years old, i'd say your in good shape :)
