Timing issues. OPK's etc

TTC is sure challenging when youre single and dont have a partner living with you 24 hrs a day. However, Im trying hard! I just started second cycle of Femara,, and Friday I was CD14 and neg OPK but tons of cramping and ovarian pain. Went to see RE.. the Nurse Practitioner said I had a big follie-not the three follicles I had last month, but she said I going to ovulate very soon. I got a trigger shot when I was there and she said I'd be ovulating within 42 hrs (Sunday morning).  Partner came over Sat nite, I had a faint positive Saturday all day.. we did it twice. Sunday I had a pos OPK and still some cramping...but couldnt attempt since donor was working and busy later. Monday night (last night) he donated, and today, the OPK is still fairly positive-both lines are dark. I may try again tonite and but after today, I think the window of opportunity will be about closed. What do you all think? Today would be CD 18. Thank you!

Thank you Yeledov... yeah the other poster didnt sound accurate and her answer wasnt really the one I was looking for. I do appreciate it though :)  I cannot possibly 'do it'  every day during my cycle with being single.. but I am attempting atleast 2-3 times. I may also switch donors if I get another BFN. I dont think its any use to continue doing TTC this cycle, I did another OPK this morning and I still have two fairly dark lines. I also have a nagging pain in my right side, which I think is the ovary that had the follicle. I think if anything was to happen, it would have happened Sat night, and monday. I think I'm also going to stop doing OPKs repeatedly during my cycle as I am just wasting sticks and I dont think its necessary. Thanks

The first commenter is wrong. (ku111 is thinking of preg tests, not OPKs.) A faint line on an opk is not a positive since LH is often in a woman's system throughout her cycle but spikes at ovulation.

That said, I think your timing sounds just fine. Fresh sperm lives in the Fallopian tubes for 3 to 7 days after insemination/sex. Even if you didn't ovulate until Sunday it should still be good. Covering your bases with the Monday donation was a good thing to cover your bets but beyond that it likely isn't needed.

Oh, and once you get your first positive opk there is no reason to do more. Your LH will stay high for a couple days even after you ovulate so it will continue to show as positive.

I use a donor too so I know how complicated it gets timing around two schedules. Good luck!

Any faint line should be positive.  Get a blood test to confirm.
