first HCG level

so figured i should be about 4 weeks 3 days today and the nurse just told me my HCG level yesterday (4wk2d) was 246....then she proceeded to say its low so we have to repeat the test on monday

i swear i could fall over...why would she say that to me...my last preg i was at 303 at 4 weeks...i think the number is good but now there's that little bit of doubt that crept in

i wish the nurse would have chosen her words better...the last any preg woman wants to hear is "your numbers seems low"

i cant wait til monday and getting those numbers back...as long as they are higher i will be happy and will be scheduling my 6 week u/s to make sure things are going well inside

im a high risk this time around and have to see a perinatologist and hematoligist to ensure my health and babys are ok

Don't worry at all about your numbers. My HCG at 4 weeks was 60 and I have a beautiful little 13 month old girl now. I am now pregnant with twin girls and at 4 weeks my HCG level was 246 (exactly the same as yours). That nurse is nuts!

thanks ladies...the ironic thing is i was just sitting at my doc 2 weeks ago talking about my m/c from march and trauma it caused....since that m/c i was diagnosed with factor V leiden and protein S definciency...its pretty scary so i wanted to check with my doc as for a plan when im pregnant to make sure i was ready for this again...

i honestly feel so blessed....ill post my 2nd numbers as soon as i get them

If I remember correctly, mine were 41 at 14 dpo, that is 4 weeks. That is SO rude. I think your number is beautiful. I would mention this to your dr, that really irks me. Congrats to a wonderful pregnancy!!

According to the charts, your right in the middle of where you should be.  They always repeat the test the first time, just to make sure your numbers are going up.  I am sure all is fine!!  It's so great to see you back.  I'm glad things are going well!!!

My hcg at 4 weeks was 101 and my ob thought it was great.  I think the nurse is crazy.  Congrats on your BFP!!

Hi there!  First of all don't worry!  When I was pregnant with my son, at about 4 wks my hcg level was 110.  They said the exact same thing to me, I had to go in for blood work about two more times just to ensure the numbers were doubling, and they did.  So relax...the HCG guidelines is just that...guidelines!  Don't get caught up that you are in the lower range of the scale, the point is you're in the range.  So put your mind at ease,  have your blood drawn again, and you will see the #'s go up!  Congratulations, and don't worry!  Pam

Hi Terri-

I just got out my paperwork from my HCG lab work and I was as follows

3 w 5 d 40.71
4 w 93.53
5 w 1793.00
5 w 5 d 9871.00
6 w 23425.00

that being the case... I think you are perfect! HCG levels range very widely! As long as they double... who cares where they start out at. As you can see... At 3 weeks 5 days I was a lot lower then you. I know yours is at 4 weeks 3 days, but figure it out. at 4 weeks I was only at 93.53, and if it would have doubled every other day (or whatever they say) then mine would have only been 187.06 at 4 weeks 2 days. Then at 5 weeks i was at 1793.00 which is only one week after my previous beta.

Don't want to confuse you, but Just wanted you to know that they have to start out somewhere! And I think yours is great! Your nurse needs some lessons in "bed side manners"! She could have just said, we will do another test to make sure things are doing well..... or something to the like, instead of scaring the dickens out of you!!

As Lisa said your # 's are fine according to the guidelines. Try and relax over the weekend and i'm sure on Monday everything will be fine. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Are you 4 weeks - 3 days from Cycle day 1 of your period??  Your levels should be anywear from 5- 426.
You sound ok to me.

Yes!  You are perfect!  If you go to "Health Pages" at he top, scroll down to HCG levels, it shows the guidelines, and honey, you're right in there!  Great job!!  Pam
