Test results back. All good! Past infection so I am immune! So grateful.
Salmonbear, I hope so, but from everything I have read, it is in the US as well. And my dr. asked me to take the follow-up test (the IgM).
I hear it is pretty much in all cats, certain soil, and certain undercooked meats. Just hoping it is a past infection and that's why the IgG antibodies are present!
I thought toxoplasmosis was only possible if the cat is infected with toxo. Which is rare in this country unless you live in southern states which is still slim . My nephew born with toxoplasmosis but was born in rural Mexico. Had my cat tested when he came here

Yeah, and contaminated soil and uncooked meat. Cats do tend to get the most blame as the cause though.
Once you have the IgG antibodies, they indicate a past infection rom years ago. The IgM is supposed to test for current infections, which is the problem. :-(
I haven't test positive, but I know it can come frome cat litter boxes. You're not suppose to change them while pregnant. Make sure if you have no choice but to, that you wear gloves and a mask.
