When do you count dpo?

Do I count the dpo from the day I got my smiley face on the opk? If so I was 11dpo today. The smiley face is the indicator that within 24 - 48 hours is ovulation? How do you count?

Aww, a negative test doesn't mean a darned thing right now.  You could easily only be 10 DPO and also, implantation time is different for everyone.  I think the standard is anywhere from 3-7 days.  Plus, different tests have different sensitivity levels.  Try to wait a few more days before taking another test.  Lol, listen to me giving that advice.  I pretty much had shares in FRER.  I was testing 5 DPO.  It was an addiction. Even now I wish I had something to pee on....lol.  You know everything is crossed for you!!  I will be watching for the update.......keep me posted.  Love ya girlfriend!!!

Thanks Amanda!!! Yeah, I got my smiley face on the 13th. I covered all my days that I needed to and then some...LOL!!! I have a lot of little symptoms I've been trying to keep track of. I took a test yesterday (I couldn't control myself) and it was neg. I know that it doesn't mean it's a definite no, I have until Sunday. I was reading a lot of things on twoweekwait.com Some women got negatives on days 10, 11, 12, and some even got negatives on day 14. They all were pregnant but it didn't show for them until later!!! I am optimist. From the smiley face, today is dpo12. I will give it at least 4 more days. Then it will be a definite either way...Keep your fingers crossed for me and pray!! Kiss that handsome boy for me too!!!

Hey Dawn, popped on for a second and saw your question.  It's impossible to know the exact day of O, so I just always counted the day after my first positive OPK as 1DPO.  For sure not an exact science, but I can't think of any other way to do it.  I guess that means you got your smiley face?  I love that test brand.  Keeping everything crossed for you honey.

Here's what I mean. I got the "smiley face" on the opk March 13th. That doesn't mean I o'd that day, it means that I have a 24-48 hour window that I will ovulate. I still don't know the exact time I ovulated so I don't know how to figure out how to count it. Should I use the positive opk as the day of ovulation?

as far as i know u start the next day..for ex:if u O today ,tomorrow would be ur  1DPO
