a little anxious about a complete placenta previa diagnosis

Hi everyone, I'm new to this community and newly diagnosed with a placenta previa at 22 weeks. I'm a little nervous and am dealing with this on my own, my husband will be overseas for the duration of my pregnancy. Alone except for my loving 2 yr old.
My question is concerning the bleeding, it just started early this morning and its a Saturday(of course) I definitely DO NOT want to go to the hospital unless necessary. Bleeding has stopped, it was just a little and I have no cramping or contraction like pain.
What do the dr's do for that-just bedrest? I have a call in but don't know when I'll hear from my doc.
Thanks

I only know one woman who had complete placenta previa and she was put on bedrest for the second half of her pregnancy. She developed a small clot at one point, which then resolved itself and after that she was ok. She had some initial bleeding, and then a few weeks later a bit more bleeding when the clot was ready to be released out of her system. Her doctor monitored the situation with ultrasound so they could determine how big the clot was, etc.

In your shoes, I would want that extra monitoring. I'm glad you've got a call in to your doc. I know it's a huge pain to have to go in to the hospital with a toddler but it's worth having it checked out. I know how you feel, my husband is my only support--we have no family or close friends yet in the area where we live.

Good luck!!

I didn't go through this myself, but my cousin had it (tamster69 here).  She was on complete bedrest for about 2-3 months I believe.   My sil had it as well and spent a few weeks at the end in the hospital.  Both delivered a few weeks early by c-section.  Both their babies are healthy and fine, and they are fine as well.  I do know you have to take it very very easy.  If the bleeding gets heavy, I personally would not mess around, but go the hospital.  It's always better safe then sorry.  Good luck.
