Connection to the progesterone question

If your body is not producing progesterone to tell the body to produce HCG... But you bleed but remain pregnant... Would that not show a false negative???

I'm in a pickle... I almost know I'm pregnant but can't get a blood test and the urine test I took at the doctor's came back negative...

I know that I could be creating a false pregnancy but I really don't think so...

Would love to hear what the doc has to say at your next appointment !!!!

I don't think that happens very often and I would think a blood test would still show a positive.  Interesting question though.  I have an appointment first week Nov, and I will ask about this...I'm curious now.

it is incredibly rare, but sometimes babies make a variant of hcg that is still able to do it's job, but it is not picked up by the tests.

I have had friends who NEVER showed positive and delivered a healthy baby girl 8 months. They were urine testing her up to about 7 months and it always came back negative??? The. Only way they knew prior to labor was she went to the hosiptal for cramps and they did a U/S...

How can that be if the baby makes the hCG??? Which BTW I believe you!!!

the baby produces HCG, not the mom
if your progesterone drops too low before the placenta is formed enough to take over, then your uterus becomes a hostile environment to the baby which can lead to a miscarriage.
so no, low progesterone would not show up as a false negative on a pregnancy test, it would still be positive.
