Ultrasound tech didn't release any info

I had an ultrasound at 10 weeks at the local hospital today. The ultrasound tech wouldn't even show me the baby. I was asking questions and her response was that she wasn't the doctor. I heard the heartbeat at least but she wouldn't share anything else with me. So i got scared that something was wrong with the baby and that's why she held the info back. Has anyone else experienced this before? I know they might have to obey code of ethichs but being a human never hurt. Hopefully my obgyn will call me back tomorrow with results. ...

My girlfriend had a miscarriage and the reason they can't show or tell you anything is because if something was wrong, the UST could be threatened. Crazier things have and will happen

I had a growth ultrasound done yesterday at the hospital and my tech was really nice but she did let me know she wasn't allowed to give me what could be her "opinion" and she had to leave everything up to my doctor. As to why she didn't show you the baby.. I'm not sure I find that kinda weird.

My last pregnancy I had a tech like that. She almost seemed rude and turned the screen away from me so I couldn't even see my baby boy (it looked like he wasn't moving when she turned the screen away). She didn't say a word other than letting me know when she was done and escorted me back to my room. Baby boy was fine though, so it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong.

It's pretty common at hospitals that the techs are specifically told that they aren't allowed to make any guesses about what they see. Because they are not doctors so they aren't qualified to make judgments and in fact they could get sued if they are wrong. So, you shouldn't take it personally nor assume that it's something bad. It's just that they are not allowed to say what they think.

I was done the same way with my pregnancy now. had me and my husband scared to death. Even the doc didn't say anything info just said it could be threathenes misscarriage. We couldn't even hear heart beat. So we had to wait til my next doc app to get the final results we was so relieved when she said he had a heart beat.my doc didn't understand why she done us like that. My other US with other kids they was always nice and showed us and let us hear but that was a diff state. It was horrible. I'm can about say ur bundle is ok.

Some places are like that where techs aren't allowed to say anything without a doctor present. She's just following the rules by the sounds of it.
