am i just being irregular again?

Hello, this is my first time here. My question is about pregnancy (of course!)
I'm 37 and been on Metformin for 6 months to regulate my insulin and hormones. Was told by my endo that I finally had good labs and should have no reason to not get pregnant and my periods have been been on schedule for 5 months.  Except this month. We have been trying to conceive and did the digital Ovulation Predictor Kits. 6 days after my ovulation, I had mad breast tenderness, light cramping and spotted for a week, with back pains. I thought I was going to have my period and now it all stopped and i'm 3 days late. I was overexcited and tested a day before and on the first day of missed period and it both said Negative. So now i'm quite confused. I'm not nauseus not anymore than what metformin does for me, I've just lightly craving some foods I used to not eat very much of. Can anyone tell me what's going on with my body?

It could be a couple different things. You could be pregnant and too soon for the hpt to puck it up, you could also be tricking your body in having signs by wanting it so bad, or it could just be some PMS symptoms. Wait a week and try doing a hpt again.
