breatfeeding

I'm on ARV can I breastfeed  ma boy coz after three month I'm goin bck to wrk. and I'm not gna stay with him

I would definitely talk to your doc about it.

You would need to speak with your doctor, I am guessing you were taking ARV, in your pregnancy as well, correct? It's used as a prevention so that the virus isn't passed to your child. It's commonly used as well to help HIV mothers breastfeed without passing the virus to their newborns but is much more successful if used in your pregnancy as well. I have not personally had to take this medication and I am not in a situation of which I have these such viruses but I did have a few woman in my breastfeeding group that were experiencing your same situation. I had to research and study this information so that I could continue providing my classes.

Used to prevent against Retroviruses...mainly HIV.
