The women of our family often give birth in their forties, but the record is held by an old aunt. She had her first at age 50, and her second at 52. Both were conceived and delivered naturally, and there were no complications.
My doctor says no to more than 3 c/s for reasons of complications. However, they can't really say "no" now can they? You're already pregnant! So your doctor will be aware of any complication that mulitiple c/s can create and be prepared to handle those -- you shouldn't worry, I'm sure you are in great hands. :)
Everything about pregnancy can be so nervewracking can't it. If it helps, I had my son just 1 week before I turned 41. He was naturally conceived, and is healthy and absolutely perfect (if I do say so myself!). Your honestly not that old...lots of us having babies in our late 30's and well into our 40's. I have no doubt all will be just fine. Congrats again!
Thank you for the responses. I know that I just have to relax but I guess the whole thing about my age and another C section really makes me nervous. I have my 1st OB appt this Saturday and maybe after consulting with the Dr. I will feel better too ; )
Congrats to you,
I this is number 7 for me I delivered the first 3 vaginal and this will be my forth csection. I asked my doctorf on the last one how was my scar tissue he looked at my chart while I was sitting there and said it very minimal, and it was not messy. He said he keeps good notes, and my doctor has delivered my last three.
I was nervous, and I still am a little, just knowing I am having surgery. I was like that with my first one though. But I know everything will be fine, its in God's hands. But I do have alot of excitement as well because we dont know what the baby is. I have 1 girl (girl is the oldest) and 5 boys. And will be excited to have healthy baby, but I prefer another boy.
Hi there, and congrats on your pregnancy. I personally have only had 1 c section, but have met several women on here who have had multiple c sections with no problems at all. Kellym who is a regular around here (although she doesn't visit as much anymore...:( ) just delivered her 4th healthy beautiful baby by c section. As far as I know all is well.
Your Dr. is the best person to guide you here, but I have never heard of it being an issue unless there were prior complications.
Congrats again, and wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months.
