Hi ladies, I wanted to ask the experienced mom's out there. Have you used cloth diapers, are they worth it to save some money? Which ones worked well for you? Thanks in advance!!

We use Bummis and Thirsties with prefolds and Bum Genius pockets.  We have used ours for the past 3 kids.

I used gDiapers stuffed with prefolds for my son. Much easier for me than folding and pinning - I was too nervous with pins. We tried lots of different brands but gDiapers fit the best, leaked the least, and were easiest for my partner to use (snaps on most brands were tough for him to figure out the correct sizing with such a rapidly growing kiddo, but velcro was easy). We used a diaper sprayer to clean up the messy ones in the toilet, then wrung out the excess and put them in a waterproof wetbag till laundry day. Cold wash with free&clear detergent, extra cold rinse, hang to dry (prefolds can go in the dryer but not the rest) and it was super easy. So very much looking forward to not having to buy a single diaper for baby #2!! I think we'll use cloth wipes this time too - I didn't realize how much we'd spend on disposable ones, it was really a crazy high number.

You're most welcome. There are tons of 'recipes' and guides for making detergents as well as homemade wipes on Pinterest. To help save even more money. If you don't have and account and don't want one the pins/boards are viewable publicly. Just use google images what you're looking for and add the words Pinterest to the end.

I have used just about all of them, cheap to expensive. I prefer to pin and fold my own. I was taught how to cloth diaper my dolls when I give because I thought they needed cloth diapers because my sister always had one on. I always have a pail for dirty and a pail for wet. I soak the dirty in borax and tide free. I believe try save my thousands. My children have all inherited my sensitive skin and all have eczema the cloth diapers have been better for their skin. I see a lot less irritations with them.
