coeliacs disease

Does anyone else have coeliacs disease? I have had 2 miscarriages in six months. Apparently coeliacs can cause miscarriage. I have an eight year old. He was 8 weeks peek but doesn't have coeliacs. We so want another baby. I am 38.

Hello,

are you following a strict gluten free diet?  Celiac is known to cause miscarriage.  It can also cause osteoporosis becuase of the resulting malabsorption.

It is just luck of the genes if your child will get celiac or not, but it is a manageable (though big nuisance) condition if you follow a strict gluten free diet.

I have 5 siblings.  Between us we have 18 children.  I've got 1 more on the way.  So far all of those kids have celiac / food intollerances.  None of my siblings were diagnosed as celiac, but suspected now.  My mother the same - and now suspect at least some of her brothers also are celiac.  So there is a STRONG genetic link.

I meant 8 weeks prem. Silly phone! Also I wasn't diagnosed with coeliacs until my son was 2. Is it possible if I have another baby will it have coeliacs? I am the only one in my entire family who has coeliacs! I also have high blood pressure and osteoporosis. I am taking pregnancy vitamins.
