so frustrated

Well we found out there was a problem with our baby. I am 19 weeks now. But at 18 weeks they said they saw a problem with his brain. Were sure it was trisomy 18 or 13 so i did the test and all came back negative. Waiting for next scan to look at his brain again. They are trying so hard to convince me to terminate. I just dont know what to do and i am so sad.

Missthang73 thanks for your detailed experience and am due a day after you.

And sweetpea-ketelsen I have read of people goingthrough  what you are going through and have healthy babies. And am not saying there is no problem - there MIGHT be. I don't even think they can say with absolute 100% that there is a problem. Its all probability so its entirely up to you and hubby as parents not doctors decision.  Hugs tobyou and keep us posted.

I went thhru something similar to this when I was preg in 2011. I went for a scan @ 12 wks and 16 wks and was told that my baby's limb's (arms/legs) were not growing as they shud have been. I was offered an amnio as we declined. Both doctor's ( my reg OB and well as the maternal fetal specialist) in so many words tried 2 convince us to terminate also. I told them that I was praying about it and left it in God's hands and that we would not terminate. I had both test trisomy 18 and 13 as well as down syndrome. I was told that the down syndrome test was positive for by baby to have a higher risk of that, The doctor's finally gave ua a name called OI( osteogenisus imperfecta) which is when the bones of the limbs were not growing to fit the rest of the body. I carried my baby for 33 1/2 weeks, when my water broke early and I had to be delivered by C-section. My baby was born and did not live for a whole day. We were devasted but God got us thru it. My husband and myself did some chromosome testing and everything was fine with us. We were told by the genetic counselor that it was something that just happend when the egg and sperm met, the gene that is needed for bone growth did not fuse together and there was nothing that anyone cud have done from the start. We got preg again in Sept. 2012 and now I'm 31+5 and is very excited to be having another baby girl. I said that to say to u, keep ur head up and continue to keep the faith in God. I promise u, he will give the strength that u need to get thru. Hopefully u and ur baby will be fine and soon u will be holding ur new bundle of joy.
