Oh, I'm so thankful for your result!
Your doctor was quite the medical professional - perhaps...well, anyway, you got to see the heartbeat and know that everything's okay and that's what's important.
Savanha said it all when she said women are not all the same. Your first doctor should do well to remember that.
Congrats on everything! - jen
First...
Congratulations!! ;o) I'm so glad that you went to someone else, because some of these docs can be soooo negative when it comes to age. Women are not all the same...they try to keep us in this cookie cutter mentality...always a blanket statement about age. So glad that you stuck to your own insticts & moved on to someone who is about bring positive energy to you, instead of draining negative. ;o) Here's to a wonderful 9 mos. & a beautiful delivery.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. (((((hugs))))) I appreciate it greatly!!!! :) :)
That is great news!! Glad to hear the baby is still growing and you got to hear the heartbeat again!!!!
That is the best newS congrats!!!
I just got back from having the u/s and WELL!!! I'm only 6 weeks and 4 days not 9 weeks like my dr first said AND!! we got to SEE and HEAR the baby's heartbeat.. It was AWESOME!!! Sooo my (former) doctor was WRONG WRONG WRONG. Oh by the way I'm still on CLOUD 9 lol!!!
That's kind of strange for your doctor to say that... Because I had my tranvaginal ultrasound at 6 1/2 with just the sac too.. I went back on my 8th week and thats when we heard the heartbeat and still couldnt see the baby clearly. But all is well and I am now 18 weeks pregnant. Get a second opinion and goodluck!

Hey I'm going for my THIRD ultrasound tomorrow at noon at the hospital. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I'm so nervous because of THAT doctor I got. But I KNOW in my heart that I have a precious little baby growing inside me and I can't wait to prove him WRONG!! I will keep all informed (((hugs)))...
first - I would at least get a 2nd opinion or change doctors too. There are tons of women 35+ - heck 40+ who've had children. Heck, I was 44 almost 45 when I gave birth to Noah who's now 13 months old. Although I used donor eggs, the concerns for pregnant women over 42+ was there but things turned out great.
Keep me posted - I'll be hoping that you'll get some good news. By the way, the word that was bleeped out was american pregnancy - it was all one word. I don't know why they bleep it out....- jen
hey thanks for the info. I checked them out and I'm more confident that I WILL be changing drs. He's just been so negative like I shouldn't be having a baby at my age because of the risks which he has made several comments on. I have never had any major medical problems or minor so I just don't see what the problem is with him. He's also very insistent on asking me if I've had any cramping, bleeding, or spotting and acts like I'm lying to him when I tell him no I've had none of them, because he always follows it up with are you sure you haven't had any kind of brown discharge or bleeding. AND of course I tell him noooo nothing I've been fine...
Welcome to the forum first of all!
Okay, since I like to do the research and the google thing, here are some links about hcg levels:

I hope this helps - don't lose hope - I would think that w/a flicker of a heartbeat, there is some. Although I've had two m/c's, I haven't been in this exact position. I hope things turn out well - good luck and keep us posted - jen
