FSH - what's a good range?

Hello,
Tomorrow is Day 3 of my AF (and my, it has been such a heavy one, don't know why!)
Anyways I'm going in to the fertility clinic to do "cycle 2" monitoring where they'll do an u/s, do bloodwork and I'll be seeing the dr. again.

I've read a few posts here about FSH levels.  Not sure exactly what it measures, or what is a good range?
thank you,
Miranda

You're right about the debates!

My specialist believes that progesterone and baby aspirin may help - doesn't hurt - so he's told me to start taking baby aspirin.  Once I conceive (today he's telling me there is "hope"..) he will be putting me on progesterone supplements.  But I know these things will not prevent a miscarriage from occuring if there is chromosal issues.

You know, I read something similar.  It seems there is so much debate with many of the tests and procedures we undergo.  Some OB and RE don't feel prometrium does anything, others think it helps.  Same with baby asprin, etc. etc.  I guess there is still so much they don't really know about the whole fertility issue.

Ooh I'd be happy with 8.5!

Some of my reading indicates there is no correlation between quantity and quality although my specialist suggests otherwise.

Mine was 8.5, and they were happy with it.  She said under 10 is good.  Good luck, make sure you let us know your number!!

Thank you!  I should have done my research before jumping on this forum with my question.  Did some checking and I see that it measures ovarian reserve.

10 and under is ideal, 11-15 they can do fertility drugs and you are still in fairly good shape.  over that, they don't like to see.
