dentist/pulling

Hello,my name is Amy and this is my first post,so I'm excited to say "hi" ;-) anyway. I am 38yrs old and I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. I am having my top teeth pulled this month and I am having concerns. I had the 1st six of my top teeth pulled and I don't feel right.I know everyone is thinking "of course you don't feel right, you had teeth pulled". In 7 days I'm getting the final 6 pulled.I lost quite a lot of blood today and was giving hrdrocodine for the pain. I have been feeling really bad. Like I want to throw up all the time. Anyway my question is...Is it safe to get 6 or more teeth pulled? My hrdrocodine is a low dose.

Make sure when U take the pain meds (hydricodone) that U take it w food. If u take pain meds/narcotics in a empty stomach u will get sick. Even if U just eat 5+ crackers so u can take the pain med it will help. And yes let Ur OB know.  *FYI I had my wisdom teeth pulled & I did end up throwing up.... It's very bad if U do bcuz U can create/develope dry sockets (in the holes where the teeth were). Dry sockets are EXTREMELY painful & U have to go to the dentist everyday to have them packed w medicine.
So try eating w the meds, get rest & hope U feel better.

I've had all mine pulled this pregnancy. The whole top at once then the bottom a week later. My deniest only have me the shots to numb. I couldn't have gas. I was sick during the procedure. And afterwards even with the hydro I felt nauseous. The hydro is safe. I've been healing for 7 weeks. It has been rough going through all of it awake. You will do fine.

Makes sure you tell your OB  what you're getting done. OB might want to know what kind of medicine they're giving you during the procedure and what they are giving you after. Good luck!

I'll have to talk to my OB I honestly didn't think about it. The deal is I'm on Medicad and after my baby is born I only have it for 2 months, right now they pay for my pulling and teeth. My dentist wants me to wait 8 weeks after all top are gone before fitting me for top dententures. I need my top teeth fixed while I can. Idk I'll ask my OB cause I don't want to hurt my baby or myself.

Does your OB know you are getting this done? If not, you should check with your OB first.

My dentist doesn't do anything invasive when in pregnant. She won't even take my x-ray.

If this procedure can wait until after you give birth, I'd recommend you doing so. It's a lot of stress on your body.
