depression

Hey i have been suffering from Depression and im 5 months pregnant the doctors say it can get worse after the baby gets here ive been prescribed Sertraline but i don't know how it will affect the baby.. should i take the medication or is it too much of a risk?

I agree with Van. Ur dr wouldn't  intentionally put u on something harmful to ur baby. Maybe do a lil research on WebMD. I hope u start to feel happy! Sumtimes if I'm sad my son will kick me & make me smile. Reminds me how blessed I am. Nothing else matters enuff to upset me. Best of luck!

I don't think the doctor world have prescribed it if it potentially could harm your baby. It is, of course, up to you. I've been depressed since the beginning of my pregnancy but haven't been to the doctor. I don't want to take any medication so have been practicing yoga and mindfulness to calm myself. It's not easy and I'm concerned as to what will happen after the baby arrives.
