Multiple blood work does not give you any results with certainty.  At 15 weeks + you can do amnio and be sure.  Or you can wait for 18 week anatomic scan and perhaps they can tell you more about baby's development.
Good luck!

I agree with adgal, this blood work will give you chances again, you will not know for sure, as she said they are not diagnostic tests.

Honey, I am not telling you whether or not to have amnio.  That is up to you entirely.  What I can tell you is that this blood test will not tell you for certain.  It is not a diagnostic test and will not tell you for absolute certain.  Nothing can except the amnio.  Ultrasounds look for soft markers which also cannot say for certain...again, they can help your Dr. determine your odds, but they also are not diagnostic for DS.

It's important to remember that the first trimester screen - bloodwork combined with u/s - is not really positive or negative.  Dr's use that term when the odds are above or below a certain level.  But all this test actually does is determine the odds, it is absolutely not diagnostic.  The primary reason for this testing is to help you and your Dr. determine whether or not further - and more invasive - testing is what you would like.  With my first trimester screen i came back 1:13 odds for DS.  I opted for amnio and my son was perfectly typical. He is now a happy and healthy 2 1/2 year old.

These tests can frighten you. It isn't really a false positive or false negative as again, it is NOT diagnostic.  No test is except CVS or Amnio.

Hope this helps, all the best to you.

I have a cousin that blood work came back high for down and she had a amino and everything was perfect.  These blood tests have a high false postive rate. Try not to stress!

ahh I am sorry honey, how far along are you? I just did my Down syndrom ultrasound and waiting for the blood results...waiting is killing me.
There is amnio test that you can do (I think after 15W) after this ultrasound and blood work.  It will give you piece of mind, that's what I am gonna do it it comes positive. Also these blood works are giving you chances for down syndrom if your your chances are let's say 1 in 50 it still doesn't mean your baby has down syndrom, but if you do amnio you will know for sure, although I read online that sometime they can give false positive too:(
