I never dilated at all until I was actually in true labor.  Even though some women dilate slowly over a course of days to weeks before labor truly begins, not all women dilate at all before.  Baby will come when ready, you can't tell when by early dilation.  Good luck!

Congrats on becoming a mommy very soon!  I know you are at that point in your pregnancy where you just want it to be over and to hold that baby.  I so well remember that feeling.  Those last few weeks can seem like an eternity.

There are lots of "old wives tales" out there that are supposed to bring on labor.  Personally, I think that baby should be left alone to arrive when he or she is ready.  I believe that our bodies go into labor when that baby is ready to be born.  The good news is that 40 weeks is full term.  Most women do not go beyond 41 or 42 weeks.  So that means you are very close now.  Just hang in there for a little while longer and trust that baby knows when the best time to be born is.

I wish you a healthy and speedy delivery, and don't forget to update us!! Congrats again.
