getting pregnant after m/c

i am 37 y.o. and was pregnant with my second bb. at 9 week pregnant the ultra sound did not find any heart beat...my OB-GYN told me to wait for the m/c to come naturally. i am a bit scared, i don't know what to expect and when to expect it! i really want to have another bb, who went through the same thing? doesa m/c lower the chance to get pregnant again?

Your body could take up to 3 weeks to disguard the fetus. Did your dr offer you a D&C? I had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks in May with a D&C and I am 4 1/2 weeks pregnant again now. Im terrified of another loss, but i did get pregnant once dr approved my lining was ok.  I would at least wait till you have a full cycle before trying and if a D&C is needed, you may want to make sure your lining in thickened for prorer implanation.

Im very sorry for you loss.

Isn't there a pill that the doctor can give you, to start the miscarriage, that is safer and easier than a D&C?  I can't spell it, but it's something like Mesoprostol?

I am so sorry for your loss "mimics."  If you miscarry naturally or with the pill I mentioned, I understand that a woman is actually more prone to get pregnant quickly, after a miscarriage.

I hope things resolve for you quickly, so you can get on with your desire to become pregnant again very soon.

The very best wishes for you and you'll be in my prayers.

I am so sorry. I do agree with your choice to wait for a natural miscarriage because to do a d&c they need to force open your cervix which can damage it. If you don't miscarry in a couple of weeks get rechecked though. You don't want an infection. Once again, my heart goes out to you. This has to be a very difficult time for you.

My heart goes out to you. I had a miscarriage yesterday at 11 weeks. We are devastated.the d&c was traumatic, felt like I was being prepped for my c section that was suppossed to happen, instead of the opposite. But they can at least test (some of) the tissue and doc said maybe find out if its genetic reasons or not. I'm also wondering if the miscarriage had anything to do with a d&c I had 9 years ago ( I had a blighted ovum).
I am 42 and am so nervous to try again. I had 2 healthy girls 10 and almost 12 years ago. I feel like maybe mother nature is telling me something, but my partner insists we will succeed next try. I wish and hope I can be as positive as him soon!  Peace be with you-

Ok I understand.  Just keep in mind that your uterus may still grow while your body as not reconized the pregancy as derminated. When you do start, please keep in mind that if heavy bleeding is longer then a week, theres a possiblity that part of the tissue is lodged someone and it could be very dangerous and not to think its natrual. Good luck!  I hope its fast for you, so you can heal and move on.
