Do you know the s on your baby?

I'm 35 weeks 6 days, 35 years old & pregnant with my first child. I have no clue how big my baby is. My doctor hasn't done an exam on me since 20 weeks & I'm a bit bothered by it. A girlfriend of mine knew the size of her baby

Sonograms can be off by up to 2 pounds late in pregnancy. There is no definite way to know how big your baby is until you deliver.

There is no way to know for sure unless you have an ultra sound. With both my previous pregnancies I had no clue how big they were. And some doctor offices won't even guess because it's just that, a guess. And depending on your Dr office they might not check your cervix until your 36 weeks and start going for weekly checkups. I honestly wouldn't worry.

I found out only because i had to go back for an anatomy u/s to check on placenta previa i had. They had the tech measure size of baby and check a few other things for him, otherwise i dont think i would have known.

That sounds about right. My Dr told me the same thing they would only my check on size if they thought there was an issue. Since your weight is good and your measuring correctly no need to check. I was told since he is right on track around 7 at delivery too

So I went to my doctor appointment today & didn't actually get to see the doctor because she was in labor & delivery so I met with the on call emergency nurse instead. I asked her if there was any way to judge how big my son is so she pushed & prodded for a bit & guessed that he's roughly 5 lbs right now & could be around 7lbs at delivery. I know this is just a guess, but I sure better to at least know something.

Ohhh, an exam, not u/s, so sorry. I do think it's odd you haven't been measured, but no they can't tell you the exact size without an u/s, and even that's not perfect.

With our last baby we had the big u/s at around 22 weeks and that was it. I think as long as there aren't any problems, you're measuring like you should, and they can feel how baby is turned they don't feel like you need one. I'm sure you could ask for one though, or pay out of pocket.

Nope, i asked my dr if she could tell me how big my baby is cuz everyone else seems to know and she said no because there really is no way to know and all any dr can tell you is a very rough guess and would probly be way off.

NO! Dumb thing submited when I was trying to correct! SORRY! My question was DO YOU KNOW THE SIZE OF YOUR BABY?
I feel like I should know if I'm progressing, the position of my baby, & the size, but I don't & it's actually causing me some stress & anxiety because this is my first & I'm totally in the dark.
How far long were you ladies when you were told these things?
