I can't say I've ever heard of this before but I guess I can see why some people might say it's not appropriate or whatever. Last funeral I went to i found out I was pregnant that evening was a strange day :)

Wellk nown fact is that pregnant women are emotional, and of course it can be stressfull, which (also well known) can hurt the baby. So knowing myself i would make a choice not to go.
Wishing everyone a pleasent pregnancy, and about this topic- not to even have a choice :)

I dont understand how a funeral can hurt a pregnant women ether! I mean there nothing there that can hurt u or make u go into labor! I would never have thought of this qurstion ether! I went to my grandfathers funeral when i was pregnant with my daughter! I all so went to my exhusbands uncles funeral when i was pregnant with my son! Nothing happened to me or my baby! I even had to go to a  Cemetery 2 months ago to clean the flowers off of a neighbors husbands gave. She couldnt do it cause she is 72 and she asked if i would! I just dont understand y it would or how it could hurt a pregnant women!

Well, seattle, if you've read my response you would see that her question was somewhat valid, so yes, you were rude... And just because someone writes “i dont mean to be rude“ doesnt mean that you werent.
Thats all...

I think you should go. Expecially if you're close to the person.  I think that's just being superstitious. I never heard of any reason why anyone wouldn't go to a funeral. That would be like telling an old person not to go. It doesn't make any sense.

I don't mean to be rude, but I don't even understand this question. Why would a pregnant woman not go to a funeral? What if it was someone in your own immediate family??? I had no idea people even wondered about this. I went to a funeral when I was five months pregnant and didn't think anything about it before, during, or after. Am I missing something here?

I had two occasions to go to cemetery while pregnant and only one (too many) funeral... and ppl kept telling me i shouldnt go, i dont fully understand why but ive been told that pregnant women shouldnt go.... Maybe its just our culture, but at the end i respected it, and didnt go....
I guess its your choice at the end..
