How far along are you.. if your early there isn't much higher they normally do at appointments..
I'm 5 weeks and 5 days I'm just worried I thought they would do hcg levels or something :/
That's crazy to me! You need another Dr. I have lupus antibodies and started Plaquenil at 5 weeks so my body wouldn't fight off the baby as a foreign object and I wouldn't miscarry. I suffered a miscarriage last Oct when we did nothing. Now I'm due in less than 2 months and I still take the Plaquenil 2 times a day along with my prenatal and 800 mg of folic acid..
I was on plaquenil but the dr told me to stop taking it. But I'm worried. I wanted at least blood work to see where my hcg levels are.
I'm surprised they didn't do bloodwork too.
And now it's the weekend so you probably can't call them and get good answers.
I'd call first thing Monday and ask for bloodwork.
Yeah I'm not sure if I should find another dr? I just wanna make sure everything is ok.
My first visit I got a pap exam and he checked my breast you dong get any blood work the first visit
I didn't get any blood work my first visit either, and I'm also over 35; they did send me to the lab eventually though, like within the 1st 8 weeks. I wouldn't say run out and get a new doc right away. You still have plenty of time for those tests. Many providers have their own protocols for when they perform tests and measurments. Did they take a urine sample and check for protein and glucose? If so, this seems like pretty routine care to me, and nothing to be concerned about.
@trying1977...if your lupus is definitive, YOU NEED TO HAVE BLOOD TEST FOR SSA AND SSB ANTIBODIES. What is your age....37? Positive SSA and SSB runs a risk for congenital heart block. Just ask your doc.
I only started the Plaquneil because of my SS-A positive, elevated sediment rate and a positive ANA. I have see Reumatlogy, MFM, PED Cardiology as well as my OB. I have a risk for heart block as well, but so far so good by Gods grace and the Plaquenil. Why would they have you stop taking it. They told me without it my miscarriage risk was high. I would find a Dr that was familiar with lupus, personally
Find a Feto-maternal specialist. They should be able to help
I am just going to try to relax. No they didn't collect urine all we did was paper work. Maybe I'm just worrying to much. Thank you all fir your support.
If you are positive for SSA/SSB antibodies, the fetal PR interval should be evaluated.
I think just my anti-dnr was positive.
