Here age 40 is when they consider people high risk , unless of course you have other issues that are causing you to be high risk.

Depends on who you ask. I was 41 when I got pregnant the first time, and of the three obgyns I consulted, you'd think I was pregnant with a ticking time bomb the way they reacted. So I got a home birth midwife and after she got to know me, my medical history, my prenatal care, she considered me very healthy and low risk. The number of years I am shouldn't really determine anything.

I had my little one 2 months ago, she's fine. Healthy and fat and breastfeeding like she was born to do it. She weighed almost 10lbs too.

Delivery at age 35 is what constitutes advanced maternal age. My doc informed me that for insurance billing purposes, 35 is labeled, elderly.

In PA you're considered high risk @ 35yo. They usually ask you for 2 non stress tests a week after you've hit 32wks.

Yep, same here.  I was referred to perinatologist and get screening for down sysndrome just cuz I was 35 when I got pregnant.  I declined all those tests and and all of my apts and other routine tests came back normal everytime.  I passed my glucose test and my fetal anatomy scan was also normal.  the drs will treat u as high risk if u have certain medical conditions that calls for it, or if u simply let them just cuz ur 35+.  Since I declined, and I've also had a healthy uncomplicated pregnancy before this second one, my drs r treating me as low risk.

I'm considered high risk due to my age, which is only 35. My Dr informed me that here in Michigan 35 and over are considered high risk.

No particular age. It depends on your medical history and the well being of the baby. I'm 36 and will be 37 in June and not considered high risk. My son is doing great
