The surge your OPK detects usually comes just before you ovulate. So positive OPK=get busy and baby dance ASAP :)

If you have a regular cycle, use your BBT, OPK, cervical mucus etc to track your cycle and see what days of your cycle you are fertile...then try to time baby dancing with your expected fertile days. Try to baby dance every other day (some people say every day) starting a few days before you expect to ovulate and continue doing so until a few days after your positive OPK...

Thx guys if i do an ovulation test and its positive does that mean im ovulating or i will 1-2 days im still confused on when i actually ovulate

The only obvious sign of the ideal environment is egg white cervical mucus.  What that means is the mucus will stretch an inch or two between your fingers without breaking.  And typically having sex the day before ovulation is ideal for conception.  Our egg only lives about 24 hours without fertilization, so most Dr.s will recommend sex for the two days leading up to ovulation, and the day of.  This has always worked for me.  Good luck.

It IS too early to test yet. I would wait until at least 10 days and preferably 14 DPO (but I am thinking you know that :)

As for the ideal environment for sperm...that one I don't know and I'm not sure if we did know that there is anything one can DO to help things along. Generally a balanced female reproductive system IS the ideal environment for sperm...some of us have things go a bit off...pH levels come to mind...cervical mucus too....but again, not sure there is anything you can do to help things along.

Sure.  Sperm can live in a fertile environment for 4 or 5 days.  So sex on the 5th probably didn't help, but the 8th is good.  Try using an opk and timing it for even closer to ovulation day.  Your perfect days would have been the 10th, 11th and then the 12th for back up!  Good luck, hope this is your month.

I had unprotected sex on the 5th and 8th i ovulated on the 12th...its pretty good chance im pregnant right???

Well, nothing is impossible, but it is rather unlikely to have any symptoms 3 dpo, simply because usually implantation hasn't taken place yet.  I wish we could tell by symptoms, but unfortunately they just aren't reliable as they can be caused by so many other things.  Sorry.
