infertility

Hi, I am kinda at a dead end. I have tried clomid and the shots and nothing has worked!! I can't afford anymore fertility treatments (my insurance won't cover it! I have 1 son who is 18. I used clomid to get pregnant. And I had a miscarriage in 2003 (didn't use any fertility drugs.). I am 44 and I REALLY want another child. I have even tried the herbal stuff too. Any suggestions???? My temp. almost always goes up the 18th day of my cycle. What are the best days to try??? Thanks

What did the acupuncture do? I have a thin endometruim (3mm). My RE just put me on Estrace to see if it will increase. I'm praying!!!

I did acupuncture along with IVF.  I'd recommend the acupuncture, but it can get pricey.  Good luck.

I had all the tests. Lap showed signs of endo. I seen my reg. gyno. and a fertility specialist. I tried clomid 9x.And follistim shots with artificial insemination 2x. I had too  many eggs one time but he went ahead and tried. And I had enough the 2nd time. Also had to stop at one point- I had a cyst.  That was all I could afford to try. The insurance covered the meds. Question - Does it make a difference if you use the generic form of clomid??? I have done the charting thing too. I don't know what to do next. I hate to give up. I have always wanted more children! It is all I can think about!

The book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility"  (www.tcoyf.com) really helped me get pregnant with my 2nd when I had several years of unexplained infertility. The book has an excellent charting system and suggestions for specific issues too. I highly recommend it to anyone trying to get pregnant.  Best wishes!!!

Hello!

A few questions...just to see if I can get a handle on what you've tried so far.  First, are you seeing a reproductive endocrinologist or a regular doctor?  Have you had a hysterosalpingiogram and /or a surgery to make sure nothing is blocked?  Insurance will sometimes cover a lap if the doctor will bill it as checking for endometriosis and scar tissue.

Have you also tried IUI in combination with clomid and the shots?  Which shots did you use specifically?  Have you had all of your hormone levels checked, such as estrogen, FSH, progesterone, etc?

I have unexplained infertility.  Everything looks totally normal with me and I ovulate perfectly fine on my own, but I have never been able to get pregnant on my own.  My first child was concieved with clomid and IUI on the 2nd try.  The 2nd time around, three rounds of clomid plus IUI did not work.

I then moved to Follistim with IUI and the first try worked and though I had like 40 million eggs (and they probably should have canceled the cycle because I had so many) only 1 took.
