My son had jaundice. They had to put him under a light too, but the window is sooo much better & works faster. Use the actual sun from the window. It works miracles.
Thank you for answering! Sadly i didnt get to bring my princess home :( . I pray i can bring her home tomorrow.
Jaundice is very common in newborns and in most cases resolves on its own, sometimes if bilirubin levels are too high they will initiate photo therapy (which isn't for heat, its UV light) and is perfectly safe. As soon as the bilirubin is within a reasonable level they will discharge her home, however some want you to follow up with your pediatrician the next day to repeat the blood work and make sure the numbers are coming down
I had the same thing with my son....they had him under a heat light but he went home with me. Ask your dr how long before you can take your baby home.
