Looks like I miscarried

Anyone had a D&C? How much pain will I experience after? What's a good drug to take?

I miscarried last week at 10 weeks. My doc specifically advised me not to have a D&C. So I did it the natural way. It was bad for a couple days - cramps and a lot fo fluid, but it was over pretty well. Had an u/s this morning - all clear. In retrospect - I am glad that I did not have a D&C.

Whatever you choose, good luck, hang in there - I feel your pain and I am sorry for your loss.

the results can vary greatly.  Of my 5 m/c's, 2 of them had cramping and bleeding for 2 days and the other 3 - next to nothing.  I was groggy and tired and I think that is more from the emotional side of things...
It gets better -

I am also very sorry to hear this.  I can't offer any other answers to your questions, but I do wish you the best and hope you recover quickly.  Take good care, Pam

Kas7,
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  I had a D&C after my last m/c.  I had some heavy bleeding for a day or two afterwards and all I needed was Extra Strength Tylenol.  It was more of an emotional pain for me than physical.
Take care

I'm so sorry for your loss.  Sadly, I have had 2 D&C's in the past year.  The discomfort for me was much like bad period cramps.  I took tylenol with codeine after coming home and the next day.  I also took gravol as I was naseous.  The day after, I felt pretty good physically, the worst part is dealing with it emotionally.  In my case I needed a lot of emotional support (thank you MedHelp ladies!).

Please know you are not alone.  Unfortunatly many of us here have been through this, and know we are here to support you.  I found talking to others who had been through it helped me immensley.  I will be thinking about you, and I hope you are doing ok.
