mani/pedi

I heard while pregnant you should not go get ur nails done st salons bc of chemicals n the strong smells is it that bad? Also someone said the tools used could be dirty n risk of exposure to hep C. I want to get my nails n toes done. Does anyone know if this is true?

I get my nails done all the time. Its perfectly safe and even take my little girl to get her nails done with nail varnish while she waits on me. So splash out n enjoy the pampering x

One more thing - they use disposable files and sterilize everything. If someone got hep C, they didn't go to a real salon. Avoid the ghetto and you'll be fine. I'd use Yelp to find a place with a good rating. Good luck!

I get a pedicure every few weeks now (my doctor suggested it) because I can't reach my own toes. Call ahead and ask if they can avoid chemicals that can make you sick. I get a long foot massage and they paint my toenails, which doesn't get to me. Make sure the place is well vented and they aren't applying acrylics right next to the women who are there for pedicures. Many of the high-end places deprecate the different services so you aren't bothered by chemicals.

Your fine, but make sure your nail salon uses sterile nail tools (prego or not). When I go I make an apt for first thing when my nail salon opens @ 9am. Less chemical fumes that way.

Your nail tech should also be using sterile tools that they open in front of you. Just like a doctor or dentist does.

Your fine. Just ask one of the nail techs for a mask so u dont have to inhale all the strong chemicals if its too strong.

You can safely get mani/pedi. Just don't take deep breaths of nail polish and make sure place is clean.
