measuring 6 weeks bigger!

Okay so heres the baby 411, measuring 39 weeks (only 33 n 6 days) so the dr decided to discuss a c section. If baby gets to big (about 11lbs), said normally they do not induce but if at 39 weeks and baby is at a  good weight then its something they can consider. If c section is needed, then that will be also scheduled at 39 weeks.  I have been tested for every possible reasoning behind why i could be measuring so big and everything has came back just fine. So this kid is just going to be huge! Wonder how big the other three would have veen if i had stopped smoking ciggs consudering they were 7 12 ,8 9 ,and 8 4 !Any body have a big baby?!?!?!

Every time I go to have a scan the doctor tells me my boy is growing rapidly, he is currently two weeks ahead. All tests done, 4D scan done, he's healthy. I told the lady who did the 4D scan I have elected for a caesarian due to previous medical issues. She reckons it's an excellent choice because he's going to be big.  Looking at probably a 9 pound + baby!!

Our last son was exactly 10lbs at birth and he was delivered via cesarean at 39 weeks and I'm glad I did! He's 3 now and an average size for his age.. So don't worry it's completely normal.

I had my daughter at 35+6 wks they told me she was in the 97% and she was she was a solid 8 lbs. I went into premature labour with her and after the second time they decided not to stop it since I got the steroids on board for her lungs. Good luck ladies this time around my little one is measuring small so I hope after my scan on Tuesday I'll get great news that she is on track.

Also my friend went 42+3 days and had a 10lb 4oz baby all natural with no complications. And she's a tiny 5'2", size 4-6 pre-pregnancy with narrow hips.

Your doctor can't force you to have a c section. You can be induced if they're really concerned but like the previous person said, ultrasounds are wrong 50% of the time. Look up the article on evidence based birth website on big babies. It really helped ease my mind when I was told my baby was measuring 6lbs at 34 weeks.

If it's an ultrasound measurement,  they can be off by 2 lbs. Go into labor naturally. Your body won't make a baby you can't birth.

I don't think legally doctors can induce at 37 weeks unless you have an issue, ie.. gd or diabetic. I am diabetic and my baby will be delivered at 37,2. She is also huge. At 33,6 she was measuring 7lbs11oz. So 10lbs'er here we come.

My baby was 7ibs at 33+4 weeks and im measuring 39 weeks .. my doctor is taking me in at 37+4 weeks for another growth scan and if my baby has grown another pound and a half there booking an induction for that week as my body wont be able to cope with a baby bigger than 9/10ibs which doctor thinks my baby eill be at least 9ibs by 38 weeks .. ive told him I dont want to risk a csection and my hospital dont like doin csections if they can be avoided so its looking like ill be meeting my little girl in 2 weeks time at 38 weeks .. bsst of luck to u and hopefully theyl let u have the induction

I totally know what you mean. I definitely feel like I'm further along than I am and I guess it's cause he is just so big. I can hardly move, can't walk for long periods, cry every day, etc. I'm sooooo ready to be at the end!!! And I'm so with you on why not induce at 37 weeks, 38 at the latest? Hello, I'd rather do that and at least have a shot at a vaginal birth than go straight to a c section. I'm trying to go on walks and do minimal things that can help me go into labor earlier on my own. But as soon as I hit that 37 weeks mark, it's on like donkey Kong. And I mean I will do EVERY natural method of induction that is safe to attempt....all in one day...day after day if I have to. Yep.

Ive never had a c section before n would prefer to keep it that way. Im beyond shock though that they would put my body through something like that n not induce me at least by 37 weeks. If the baby is at a good weight by then, y not ? I just had a baby, he will be 1 Wednesday and my body is just not handling this pregnancy well, i have varicose veins bad every where n they hurt,i cant move since im so big, its hard to even change my youngest ones diapers! Im always in tears because i cant hardly do anything even though i try to n it makes it worse when i strugle at it. Im just so over it! And they can tell i am by how i act at my appointments, im always dehydrated beyond their number scale (even though i drink water like no other) i told the nurse yesterday to shove that dehydration scale n her suggested water up her *** because im sick of hearing about it lol. I can inky intake so much and pee so often lol. Ugh just so over it!

Omg! You have the EXACT same situation as me! I've been feeling completely alone in this, until I just read your post. At 34 weeks my baby measured approx 7 lbs 6 oz on the ultrasound, over the 99th percentile, and estimated gestational size of 39 weeks. My doctors said after 10 lbs they suggest a c section and are already leaning to schedule one at 39 w since it looks like he will be at least that size by then. I told them I was extremely opposed to a voluntary c section and want to try to be induced. So I'm going for a comprehensive scan at 37 weeks 3 days and we will discuss our options from there.

If you're like me and are hopeful for a vaginal delivery, let your doctors know it! In an ideal world my baby boy would come a little early on his own and this could be avoided!
