miscarriage?

I'm 5 weeks pregnant. My last period would have been 10 days ago and I missed it completely. No blood at all. Small small amount of pink discharge. We went to the doctor a week ao to confirm that i was pregnant. today I am 5 weeks 1 day pregnant. I am bleeding. It started about half hour ago. I called and talked to the nurse and dhe said all I can really do is make appointment for monday. The bleeding isn't terrible but it is blood red like a period. Some people have implantation bleeding but I fear the worst. really have no idea what to expect this is my first pregnancy. does anyone have any wisdom or experience to share with me? The nurse told me if I bleed through one pad an hour or I have pain I should go to the emergency room this weekend. She also told me to abstain from sex. As if it's on my mind!

I am also about 5 weeks pregnant as of now. I am 39 years old and I have uterine fibroids which was causing me alot of back pain. Missed my period and took a hpt, it was positive. Went to DR and was told I was indeed pregnant and they said I farther along than I really thought, Dr said I was 6 weeks on Oct. 19th, Dr was going by my menstual cycle which was Sept 8th, I know for a fact that I conceived the week of sept 22nd, not sept 8th so that made me about 4 weeks along. On Oct 19th  I started spotting very light pink discharge, only on the tissue when I wiped.I have had 2 miscarriages before so I was very concerned. I went to ER and they did a U/S vaginally and it hurt like hell! They said they did not see any evidence of a pregnancy in my uterus or in my tubes, but they were thinking I was 6 weeks along. I know I was not that far along and I let them know that. I know you cannot see anything on the U/S when you are that early in pregnancy.  I started bleeding after that vaginal U/S a little, bright red blood. I was sent home and was told I had to go to the lab in a few days to get my HCG level tested. my level was at the time 115. Well yesterday 10/22  I started bleeding , I noticed this when I went to the bathroom and the toilet water was red, and the tissue was full of blood, I figured I was having a miscarriage, but it was not like my other miscarriages, absolutly no cramping, just alot of blood. The bleeding stopped within a couple hours, and now its the the next day and Im just passing very little amounts of old brownish colored blood. Still no cramps. I had dreams all night last night about miscarriage and in my dream I could see my babys face perfectly clear!! She was beautiful!! Hopefully it is a sign from God that my baby will be ok. I Called Dr this morning and I have to go today to get my HCG level tested. Hopefully everything is ok!! I want this baby to make it! Has anyone else going through this or has went through this?? Im very worried but trying hard to keep my faith.

I had bleeding at 8 wks with my first, for 3 days. Had ultrasound then & baby was fine!! Just leftover blood & wasnt affecting baby. Really scared me!
I had early m/c back un Feb. It started out as cramping & light bleeding & progressed was confirmed I m/c by blood test & u/s. : ( Goodluck!

lay in bed and get waited on for the weekend. see a doctor for any pain. I had exact same and did that bleeding stopped and I have the coolest 16 year old you could ever meet.  just rest up. you could probably use the sleep anyway ;)

Thanks ladies. The bleeding has pretty much stopped at about 3 hours later. I don't have pain so I'm just going to follow the doctor / nurse advice. I did have a very minor cramping but it could also just be that I'm so worried about everything that my stomach was hurting.

I had some spotting when I was around 8 weeks pregnant and now I am 32 weeks. The doctor said there is alot of blood flow down there and a ruptured blood vessel can cause bleeding.  I am sure all is fine. As easy as it is for me to say and so much harder to do, try not to stress and worry.

I had bleeding and passed a clot when I was 5 weeks it freaked me out so I went to the er they did a ultrasound blood work and a pap smear. Everything was fine went back 2 days later they did the whole thing again. I'm now 12 weeks and no problems since. I would go to the er for closure even though they can't stop it from happening its good to no.

Typically bleeding without cramping isn't a miscarrying event. I bleed randomly (heavily and fresh) during pregnancy for no apparent reason and have had 2 perfectly healthy children. But if you have cramping with it, that is more worrisome. Always good to get it checked out though! Good luck!

I had bleeding at 6 weeks went to emerg an they told me I had a subcronic hemridge an the baby is fine. I would still go to the hospital to check it out to make sure and get some piece of mind.
