my abnormal labor story

So i was exactly 38 weeks when i woke up around 9 am ,i went to use the bathroom and seen some blood on the tissue when i wiped. So i thought "ok I'm probly spotting that's nornal" ..... So i went to lay back in bed for a few hours before work, as i lifted my leg to get in bed i felt a big gush just pour out. So I thought "OmG my water just broke! Lemme go clean up and be  on my way to the hospital" now I was wearing black sweat pant so i didn't notice the color of the liquid until i lifted my leg again to put on a new pair of underwear when literally it was like Niagra Falls of blood just pouring out uncontrolably. I was so scared and cried thinking i was loosing my baby. We rushed to the hospital St.Luke's in New Bedford MA (the worst hospital ever)  they got me on IV and all that stuff, i still don't have a good understanding as to why i bled like that, one doctor told me it was probly my cervix moving into place, another told me it was an abruption. They popped the rest of my water and the labor began. The contractions are very painful, i got the epidural at 5 cm when the pain was unbearable. After that i dialated to 8cm pretty fast but stood at 8 cm for a while. The epidural started to wear off  where i could feel my whole right side  so they gave me a shot of some sort and i was feeling good again. At 10 cm my baby was supposably still not low enough so we waited a while. After an hour or so it was time to push. I pushed for like 15 minutes and he was out. A healthy baby boy at  6lbs 7 oz and 20 inches long.  i was in labor from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm seems so long and miserable but it honestly really wasn't as bad as i thought and  would like to think i did good for a first time mommy :)  i tried googling why i bled so much like that but still unsure if anyone has any info or has heard of something simular please let me know thank you

If you had a priva or partial priva that could happen but it should have been seen on your last sonogram? Hmm

I have no idea why you would bleed like that. On a happier note, congratulations on your new bundle of joy!!!
