I am 43, first baby, had all for genetic stuff and am very happy I did! All were negative! This a garuntee? NO! Could still have preemie that can cause issues or, may have autism.

My Dr. told me to go home and stay off the internet! If something seems off, call the Dr.

She said I will be far happier if I don't read everything that may go wrong and she is right. I am 25 weeks and except for age, very easy preg. to date. No morning sickness, just a little fatigue

I refused all testing on my babies other than simple ultrasound.  Age alone can throw off the tests and you can be given some horrible odds.  I had two healthy sons before 40.  don't be scared.  good luck

I'm 38 and scheduled for c/s tomorrow. I did the dna testing at 12 weeks and wish I didn't. I was told its 99+% accurate and had it come back with an extra X chromosome. After several distraught weeks and many tears shed, I had a amnio done which is also said to be 99+% accurate. It came back as negative. Now it's just wait til baby's here to test him and see which test was correct.

Yes. It's actually 35 when you become more at risk. Mainly genetic defects :-( I'm 35 will be 36 when I gave my 3rd baby now. You can do the first trimester screening around the 12 week mark. A great test that is almost as accurate as the amnio test is called the Free Cell DNA test. It's just blood work and checks genetic issues. I did the Free Cell DNA test and am so glad I did because the ultra sound showed some concerns but with the test the drs are very confident the baby is fine. And because of your age your insurance will cover it.
