My typical cycle is 28 days - with ovulation on day 19 or 20.  With this pattern I was still able to get pregnant three times - and I now have 2 beautiful girls to show for it :)

I had an unusual cycle this month that might be realted to your situation.  I got all the ovulation symptoms this month about day 10.  I took an OPT and it was positive.  I waited two weeks and had my doctor call in a serum preg. test. It was negative. This was this past Friday. I was feeling low and had started experiencing some cramping in the ovarian area ( I was hoping it was implantation cramping) then I noticed cervical mucus indicative of ovulation. I took another OPT and I am ovulation AGAIN! This is day 24.  I found this article online
http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn3927

Which basically states that many women have waves of maturing eggs. Many of the women had 2 waves. Not every wave releases an egg but sometimes you can release an egg in each wave.  Perhaps you had 2 waves and the second one is resulting in the release of an egg, where as the first wave did not?
