TWINS!....MAYBE?

I am looking for opinions...any given is greatly appriciated!

I am 35 years old and am expecting my 5th child...I had a copper head IUD in for almost 7 years...removed it
July 17th 2008 was pregnant by July 25th 2008...I am now 6wks along but look like I am atleast 3-4mos. Twins don't run on my side...do run on my husbands side (Identical) just wondering if anyone thought I could be carring twins...Of course everyone teases me saying that I AM....My apitite is ridiculus...and am not fitting into ANY of my pants unless they are stretchy waiste...Feedback of thoughts would be nice or signs to look for when it comes to carring a double blessing....Thx 2 all!

I'm having my second child and I started showing very early.. huge in fact!  I was measuring 5 months by the time I was 3 months.  I'm now 6 months and look like I was due yesterday.  People keep asking me about having multiples, but there is only one in there, who is currently measuring in the 90th percentile for size!

Also, I was pregnant with twins the first time and didn't ever have morning sickness.  This time, I only have one, and I was throwing up from morning till night until about 5 months.  So, I think every pregnancy is different, and second pregnancies especially can show much earlier.

The best way to tell if you might be having twins is look at your early Beta HCG numbers, and then of course, ultrasounds.  My first Beta HCG at about 16 days was really high the first time, so I knew I probably had twins and I did.  The second time it was normal range and as predicted, only one!

This is my first pregnancy and I'm carrying twins.  Although each person is different in terms of symptoms, I didn't have double of anything.  My appetite is still normal at 26 weeks, I didn't have any morning sickness.  But I did start showing right after 12 weeks, and right now probably look like I'm 8 or 9 months but it's actually only 6.

I agree with adgal, only u/s can tell for sure.

From what I understand, identical twins don't run in families - it's fraternal ones if that's any help.  Good luck on your pregnancy and congrats!

I am pretty sure an u/s is the only thing that can say for sure.  I know that really high beta/hcg's can be an early indicator, but not always.  I do know that the likelyhood  of twins increases over 35, as apparantly it is more common to produce more than 1 egg in a cycle.  Whatever the case, congrats on your pregnancy, and best of luck to you!

I am pregnant with my third child (4th pregnancy, lost last one to miscarriage) and at 12 weeks look like I am around 22 weeks.

Every second person is still asking me if there might be two babies in there.

I have now had 2 ultrasounds, and there is definitely only one...
