post partum haemorrhage

hello
i am a 29 yrs old female working in qatar going to have my scond baby. during the delivery of my first baby i had severe post partum haemmorhage due to uterine atony.so my doctors used inj carboprost.
but now  that inj carboprost is not available in qatar.my doctors have advised mr that i will no longer need that injection becoz they think they will  control the bleeding good enough without the injection hemabate(carboprost).please advise whether i shud follow my doctors advise or i shud make sum arrangements to get that injection from my previous doctors outside qatar.

Hi.  I too had a massive pph after my first baby was born last year.  Unfortunately they couldn't stop the bleeding during the second surgery and had to proceed with a hysterectomy to save my life. I had an undiagnosed problem which caused  the uterine atony so it was an extreme case.   I am sure your doctors will be prepared this time around.   I am so pleased that you will be able to experience child birth again and I am sure everything will be fine this time.

Hello.  I also had post partum hemorrhaging after my first delivery caused by uterine atony.  I had to have an emergency D&C.  I don't know what if any meds were distributed/injected to me during that time, but I know in my case the D&C was my salvation.  I am currently 29wks pregnant with my 2nd, and have a new OB fully aware of what I experienced the first time around, and he assured me he would be prepared and ready if it happens again.  It is a VERY scary thing to experience...my poor husband was freaking out...I on the otherhand was out of it and just remember being rushed to the OR.  As long as your current doctor is aware that you had PPH once before, they will be fully aware and prepared to prevent it from occurring again.  Try not to worry, I hear that many many women that have had PPH, often never have it again, I pray this is the case for you or myself!  Best wishes!  Pam
