pregnancy insomnia?

I've developed pregnancy insomnia since I got pregnant and have been taking unisom sleeping pills which has been a lifesaver since 11 wks.  I'm now 34 wks and still have trouble getting a good night's rest if I don't take my sleep aid and I used to sleep soundly before getting pregnant.

Is anyone else going thru pregnancy insomnia or have in previous pregnancy and their sleep returned to normal after having the baby?  I'm concerned my sleep issues while pregnant is having a direct effect on my baby.  My hubby is already a light sleeper and has trouble staying asleep, I hope my baby doesn't inherit his sleep disorder if that's possible.  Any insight is appreciated!!

Thank u!  I'm hoping that my regular sleep will return once baby pops out.  I really dislike depending on sleeping pills... :(

I am a very light sleeper.  I had trouble sleeping during my first pregnancy (as well as this one). After my little girl was born, I slept much better.  When she started sleeping thru the night, so did I. Good luck!
