working and pregnant at 44

Wow! I can't believe how many of you out there are having babies over 40.There was me thinking that I was to old I'm 44 soon but my husband is 52 is that still ok? We already have a 12 and a 7 year old and lately all I think about is having one more before it all ends with the menapause. But whats worrying me is the nine months of how I'd cope with the sickness and tiredness with being alot older than when I last had one and I am working parttime in a school kitchen. with my last children I suffered terrible sickness chances are I would again. could I afford to not work would I get enough help?

Hil

every pregnancy is different.  If you want another child at least you should try, so you have no regrets or what ifs..

I am 41 and my 2nd baby will be due in a week or so.  i've worked the whole way through.  All is doable and so worthwhile, in my opinion.

Welcome and congratulations to you!  There are lots of us having babies in our 40's.  I don't know if it's tougher or not then it is for our younger counterparts as my first child was born one week before I turned 41.  I had a few challenges during my pregnancy..not necessarily age related, just a few difficulties.  And yes, I too was tired all the time.  But I did manage to work up until 6 weeks prior to giving birth and did just fine.  It's nice that your children are old enough to be a little more independant so you can find some time for those relaxing bubble baths and the early to bed nights.  You'll be fine!  There are so many here who have had two back to back in their 40's and managed, and you'll see, you will too.  Congrats again and wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months!
