Help? I am 7 weeks pregnant, I am positive I conceived the first week of November. My Ultrasound only showed sak and fetal pole and showed me at around 5 weeks. My LMP started October 18th, 2010.
I have an 11 month old, and when I was 7 weeks along with her, I could see what looked like a shrimp with a very strong heartbeat.
Does this definitely mean this is not a viable pregnancy? My doctor looked worried. He is running my blood hormone levels again & sending me for an ultrasound at a hospital in a couple of days.
I am a pharmacist, I do alot of research, and it sure seems as though I should be seeing alot more than what I did on the u/s monitor yesterday!
Any answers are greatly appreciated.

they can be off up to a week, but generally not 2..  hopefully your dates are just a touch off (later ovulation, later implantation, etc) and your next scan will show the progression they are looking for.

I had a similar experience and unfortunately for me it was the start of a miscarriage. But as you can see from the comments above it can work out ok too.

Take care of yourself in this awful worrying in between time.

baby almost doubles in size during week 7 (seven weeks from your last period, but baby is only 5 weeks old) i seen an empty sac at 6 weeks and had another scan at nearly 8 weeks and saw a baby and a heart beat. do not worry, your baby still has a few weeks of growing before they can tell you your pregnancy is not viable.

Congratulations!...  let me tell you that from the first time i went to the doctor i was either 1 week more or behind, finally I am 19 weeks now and they keep adding , but if i go to a new doctor i migh be 17 weeks..so dont give them attention enjoy your pregnancy

Hi! First let me say CONGRATULATIONS!! When i first found out i was pregnant i was only 6 weeks and i had a visit to the er they did a transvaginal sono and all they seen was a sac no yolk or anything. I just like you was scared to death because the doct in the er told me i could have a chemical pregnancy or a tubal pregnancy. I followed up with my obgyn and he tested my hormone levels every other day and sent me for an immediate sonogram that same day (wich was about a week since my visit to the er) and thank god we heard a heart beat i was about 7 weeks at that time. Now i am almost 30 weeks pregnant with my little girl. Dont worry so fast just sit tight and watch your hormone levels over the next few days and you will probably hear your angels heartbeat at your sonogram. God Bless & Good LUck!!
