reversal of tubal ligation

I had a tubal ligation after my 4th child in 2008 and have separated from my husband after an abusive marriage.I have met someone who i want to be with and be able to have our own child together.I really regret having the tubal ligation but i had pressure from my parents,my ex husband and am really regretful of this now.I know i have 4 children but would really love to have a child with someone i love instead of my last 2 pregnancies where i was forced. It would mean everything to me to have myn and my partner who i love more than life itself to have our own child.I want a happy life now with my children and partner but am worried in case i cant get a reversal.

Also, if you are experiencing symptoms of ptls, then it would be worth it to get relief and another baby.  I had the reversal and it was 5600 dollars in LA.  It went great, easy healing and two open tubes.  I just did it for relief from symptoms, not for another baby.  Also check out this blog that talks about tubal reversal.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi Tracey,
Your story sounds like mine! I had a TR in September, we tried naturally for 2 cycles but I am 44 and decided to do iui with injectables just to give it a little push.  You could always try ivf, it is a bit more expensive but your young enough! Good luck to you! I know how you feel!
Hugs,
Melanie

I had a tubal reversal in February 2010. I didn't know prior to that that I have endometriosis, which had damaged my left tube so bad that it couldn't be repaired. They were able to repair the right tube, which went back together well, according to the doctor. However, at my HSG test in April 2010 it showed that my tube was not open. I have not had another test, nor have I been back to my doctor to see what other options I have. I have just kind of given up, and we haven't been trying to get pregnant. If it happens, it happens...if not, I have to learn to accept that.

However, I *have* heard many, many success stories. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best!

I had my tubes reversed 12.20.10.  The facility I went to was in NC.  The main doctor there has done thousands and that is all they do.  They have a strict pregnancy protocol that they have their patients follow so that you don't endanger your repaired tubes.  The cost was also reasonable.  I am so glad I did it. I just wish that I hadn't waited so long. Now my age may play a factor in even conceiving! They even have stats you can view that discuss your chances by age and type of tubal ligation you had.  If this is something you want to do, I would suggest you check them out.  They are called Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have heard its quite expensive and not always sucessful.   My mother had it done and had 3 ectopic, 2 of which destroyed her tubes and she had to have emergency surgery. This was many years ago, perhaps its changed since then.  Good luck to you.
