I had group b with my last baby and will be tested for this one I was put on antibiotics in labour and my baby was when born everything was fine and as long as you get medication and drs know you have nothing to worry about Hun xxx at least you can get the medication to stop any problems x
If you deliver a baby when you have step B and are NOT treated there is a very "small" chance that your baby (babies) could get the infection. If you are treated, the chances are partially zero that baby will be infected
Thank you all for the reassurance i just read some nasty things and i automatic assumed its a really bad thing. I suffered really bad health anxiety last year and then i got pregnant which couldnt have come at a better time as it helped my mind shift to more positive outlook however its been one thing after the other with the twins and im constantly worried i know my mind has alot to do with it but hopefully i can get some help.
I have 6 kids, and due with lucky nmbr 7 on July 10th. All born with me having been positive for strep b. Born perfectly healthy with no health problems. I was given an IV for antibiotics and all my babies r fine. Don't stress, stressing will cause more damage then your, very treatable, strep b.
Very common had it with every pregnancy they put a drug in your IV and its gone...worrying for nothing
I had it.
you get one set of medication and its gone. What are u worried about?
My doctor said its the most common thing ever. Its just bacteria.
Thanks hun im gonna go see my gp tomorrow as i trust her more then some random midwife at the hospital. Hopefully she can ease my anxiety with all this strep b.
Google is your worst enemy hun. I'm high risk, always have been on every pregnancy and I learnt my lesson the hard way with Google. Ring and speak with your doctor about the strep b. Find out what they're plans are for you. I've tested positive twice before for it and each time I went into labour I didn't wait to go to the hospital, so as I had maximum chance of getting the anti biotics into me. My labours were well over the 4hr mark which was good in that aspect. Best of luck with your twins
