High Hcg with No Yolk sac

I'm somewhere around 5 wks preg I work for an OB/GYN and we did two hcg tests 12,500 two days later 17,300 then we did a vaginal ultrasound (I have a retroverted uterus) she saw gestational sac, but no yolk sac. she is very concerned and wants to do another hcg on monday.  I am very scared i'm almost 40 and I had my first and only child 16 years ago.  Has anyone experienced something similiar that could give me hope for a good outcome?

I had an ultra sound during that same time period and the tech said that it may just not be there yet....was he incorrect?  I started to spot today so I am extreamly jumpy now

I did not have a similar experience, but wanted to let you know I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.  I wish I could give you information.
